Our Experience And Interest In The Four PCIA Central Focus Areas

Social/Cultural barriers to using traditional fuels and stoves:

People like to be identified with technology (latest development) hence neglecting the issue of sustainability. An example is the use of solar heaters. Most people prefer electricity and fossil fuel instead of the renewable resource (solar energy).

Market development for improved cooking technologies:

We are in the process of developing cookers utilizing methane. Methane will be pressurized in order to be stored in cylinders. We are in a position to market environmentally friendly energy alternatives for cooking.

Technology standardization for cooking, heating and ventilation:

After our first exhibition entailing the use of biogas cookers, we are coming up with the cheapest methods of pressurizing methane in biogas to form propane, which we will make available in shops.

Indoor air pollution exposure and health monitoring:

We have done pollution science and learned about the gases and particulate matter that cause indoor and outdoor air pollution.
