Our Experience And Interest In The Four PCIA Central Focus Areas

Social/Cultural barriers to using traditional fuels and stoves:

Daasgift is currently creating awareness of climate change/global warming in 36 communities. It is promoting the use of alternative sources of energy and promoting behavioral change.

Market development for improved cooking technologies:

Daasgift is collaborating with a manufacturer who manufactures improved wood stoves for the poor. The stoves are just like the traditional stoves but use less fuel wood and have a chimney that the smoke passes through. This is generally and easily adapted, but the women are hesitant to shift to gas stoves.

Technology standardization for cooking, heating and ventilation:

I am interested in sharing experiences from other countries and adapting to standards.

Indoor air pollution exposure and health monitoring:

Interested in acquiring more skills that will enable me to monitor the impact of my interventions.
