Indo-US Conference-cum-Workshop on Air Quality and Climate Research [March 14-16, 2011]
Hands-on training on WRF, CMAQ & SMOKE [March 17-24, 2011] at Ansal Institute of Technology, Gurgaon (suburb of Delhi), India.
The rapid growth of the Indian economy, spurred by industrial and urban expansion, has been accompanied by environmental stresses, particularly in air quality. The current capacity in India in research and operational aspects of air quality forecasting and regulatory management needs further enhancement. It is critical to develop resources within the Indian air quality research and regulatory communities in the areas of measurements, modeling and analysis. To help fulfill India's long-term needs in developing feasible comprehensive air quality decision support systems and addressing the pressing air quality issues in India, this international collaborative Conference-cum-Workshop is being organized in March, 2011 at Ansal Institute of Technology, Gurgaon, India. The workshop will include lectures and hands-on training led by U.S. scientists on a suite of modeling tools that are routinely used for air quality management.
