PCIA Webinar: Impacts of household fuel consumption from biomass stove programs in India, Nepal and Peru

date:
August 11, 2011

10:00 AM - 11:30 AM EDT, 14:00 – 15:30 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC)/Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)

Does your program aim to reduce fuel wood use and emissions from household cook stoves? Are you interested in learning more about stove performance field-testing? Would you like to hear about the impacts on household fuel consumption from biomass stove programs in India, Nepal and Peru?

If so, register today for the Partnership for Clean Indoor Air (PCIA) webinar on Impacts of Household Fuel Consumption from Biomass Stove Programs in India, Nepal and Peru on August 11, 2011. This is the second in the PCIA stove testing webinar series taking place this summer.

Michael Johnson, of Berkeley Air Monitoring Group, will present the results of in-home assessments conducted with the Center for Rural Technology and the Alternative Energy Promotion Center in Nepal; First Energy in India; and the Servicio Nacional de Capaitacion para la Industria de la Construccion (SENCICO) and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) in Peru.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) developed and funded this project to build local partner organization’s capacity to conduct field assessments of fuel use savings. Three partner organizations were selected through a competitive process. Support included Kitchen Performance Test (KPT) capacity-building training, technical assistance and stove performance testing to measure energy consumption and savings of improved stoves over traditional stoves and cooking methods.

Join the webinar to:
• Learn KPT basics and its value in assessing stove performance;
• Hear KPT study results and how they compare with other lab and field test results;
• Gain insights on how in-field assessments can help your program;
• Learn about designing field studies, including implications for carbon offset monitoring;
• Hear recommendations for future field assessments; and
• Interact with Michael through instant polling and Q&A.
