GoodPlanet - Action Carbone programme

Mission

GoodPlanet is a foundation that was created in 2005 to raise public awareness of environmental protection and to bring concrete solutions to the Earth’s ecological crisis. The foundation is chaired by Yann Arthus-Bertrand.

Our Experience And Interest In The Four PCIA Central Focus Areas

Social/Cultural barriers to using traditional fuels and stoves:

We work with local organizations which are more aware of the local social/cultural barriers, and try to overcome them through different development projects in rural areas.

Market development for improved cooking technologies:

We try to improve the development of improved cooking technologies (biogas, improved cookstoves, etc.) by financing the partner activities and building the local capacity in terms of technology and carbon finance.

We already support biogas projects in India and China, solar cookstoves project in Bolivia and Peru and began an improved cookstoves project in India.

Technology standardization for cooking, heating and ventilation:

We are focusing on scaling-up existing projects.

Indoor air pollution exposure and health monitoring:

Carbon projects require constant, intensive monitoring surveys. Our supported projects can include following-up on pollution exposure and health in these surveys, based on questions asked.
