Our Focus

Primary Initiatives, Target Populations, and Scope of Work:

IRD often begins at the community level and takes lessons to scale after demonstration of success. We currently work in all regions. This includes emergency disaster/relief programs through to community development and disaster risk reduction and mitigation. We run targeted, cost-effective programs that tend to integrate improved drinking water, sanitation services and other environmental challenges, including indoor air quality concerns, within a framework that promotes long term sustainability by considering economic development and strengthening opportunities by design.

We are very interested to learn more about how to integrate improved cooking into our programming considerations.

Technology standardization for cooking, heating and ventilation:

We have expertise through our infrastructure programs on heating and ventilation, working with local authorities in reviews of existing standards.

Indoor air pollution exposure and health monitoring:

We currently have no experience in monitoring IAP exposure but are interested to learn more.
