Job opening: Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves - Project Manager, Standards & Testing

The Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves is seeking a Program Manager for Standards and Testing.

The Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves is a public-private partnership to save lives, improve livelihoods, empower women, and combat climate change by creating a thriving global market for clean and efficient household cooking solutions. The Alliance’s ‘100 by ’20’ goal calls for 100 million homes to adopt clean and efficient stoves and fuels by 2020. The Alliance works with public, private, and non-profit partners to help overcome the market barriers that currently impede the production, deployment, and use of clean cookstoves in the developing world.

Position Overview:

The Alliance’s Program Manager for Standards and Testing will serve as the Alliance primary point person for the development and implementation of a robust global consensus standards process; for the management of contracts/grants for capacity development in a variety of test labs around the world; for technical support to questions from policymakers and key partners, and for providing coordination of the Standards and Testing working group as well as technical support on data collection and integration, impact assessment, and other related tasks. S/he will be integral to the success of the Alliance’s work in the standards and technology area and will support best practices and information exchange, coordinate policy and technical dialogues; leverage the Alliance’s technical expertise; and identify opportunities for Alliance Partners to complement each other’s work in the standards and testing fields.
