Vietnam Clean Air Partnership (VCAP)

Mission

VCAP was established on 27 March 2006 under the Decision of the President of Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment (VACNE). VCAP's mission is to gather and mobilize individuals and social organizations in Vietnam to participate in activities serving the improvement of air quality to protect community health and contribute to the sustainable development of the country, the region, and world-wide.

Primary Initiatives, Target Populations, and Scope of Work:

Activities:- Raising awareness, education, and knowlege spreading in air quality protection - Conducting workshops and training courses on air quality in Vietnam - Promoting Enviroment Protection Law among people and social organizations - Participating in the development and implementation of policies, legislation, and measures on environment and natural rersources as well as air quality protection. - Carrying out consultation, critical reviews, and social supervision for state agencies and businesses on issues relating to air quality. - Participating in scientific research, technological development as well as in projects on air quality protection inside and outside Vietnam. - Cooperating with partners inside and outside Vietnam for the protection of air quality in Vietnam, in the region as well as worldwide. - Participating in regional and international organizations and associations operating in the field of air quality protection. Targets: - To gather and mobilize individuals and social organizations in Vietnam to participate in activities serving the improvement of air quality to protect community health - To contribute to the sustainable development of the country, - To contribute to environmental protection of the region and world-wide.
