In our efforts to reduce deforestation, we have been looking at alternatives for reducing wood usage in rural areas, and also substituting existing cooking devices with cleaner technologies.

Social/Cultural barriers to using traditional fuels and stoves:

We find that due to consumerism and social pressures, new technologies are becoming more acceptable.


Market development for improved cooking technologies:

We do not do any commercial work.


Technology standardization for cooking, heating and ventilation:

This is also not an area of concern for us.


Indoor air pollution exposure and health monitoring:

We are mainly interested in reducing the adverse health impacts due to pollution.
