Webinar: EPA Lab Test Results for Household Cook Stoves

On June 30, 2011, PCIA hosted a webinar discussing the lab test results for 22 cookstoves and 7 fuels conducted by the EPA in a lab using a variety of operating and testing conditions to test performance in terms of power usage, energy efficiency, fuel use and emissions.

Jim Jetter, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Senior Research Engineer and leading cook stove researcher, gave an overview of the most extensive round of laboratory cook stove testing conducted to date. Jim discusses the following during this webinar:

• Individual results and how they are being used;
• Lab test methods and types of equipment used; and
• Recommendations on stove design and performance and the impact of fuel moisture levels and operating conditions on stove performance.
