Our Experience And Interest In The Four PCIA Central Focus Areas

Social/Cultural barriers to using traditional fuels and stoves:

There is no cultural barrier on the dissemination of ICS. Since most of the people are not educated, they are not aware of indoor air pollution and its connection with health hazards. The people are also not aware of climate change issues.

Market development for improved cooking technologies:

Somokal Charitable Foundation is creating a market for ICS through awareness building activities, like holding meetings, distributing leaflets and posters, and showing films.

Technology standardization for cooking, heating and ventilation:

Somokal Charitable Foundation is following GIZ and SZ. GIZ has standardized ICS.

Indoor air pollution exposure and health monitoring:

Monitoring is done by Somokal Charitable Foundation itself
