Our Experience And Interest In The Four PCIA Central Focus Areas

Social/Cultural barriers to using traditional fuels and stoves:

Start up costs, customers fear use of LPG because of the risk of health and safety, customers think of being tied up in the cost price, charcoal and firewood are cheaper.

Market development for improved cooking technologies:

There has been substantial research in the development of improved cooking technologies. However all of them are based on charcoal and firewood. There is hope that with the current uptake of LPG, there is a view that with a sustainable supply of LPG, the population might change in behaviour and get hooked on the clean, affordable, readily available alternative energy.

Technology standardization for cooking, heating and ventilation:

Customers are supplied with Gas detectors, and are allowed to pay for for installation costs in instalments through loan secured from the bank.

Indoor air pollution exposure and health monitoring:

We have devleoped a mechanism of installing LPG cylinders in a manner which meets the companies health and safety standards. LPG in itself emits less carbon into the atmosphere. Cylinders are well connected with automatic or mannual changeovers. This means that since our energy is clean there has not been any risk of considering to monitor indoor air polution as this is one of the main objectives of our company.
