Our Experience And Interest In The Four PCIA Central Focus Areas

Social/Cultural barriers to using traditional fuels and stoves:

Cultural appropriateness is at the core of the projects we design. We aim to create solutions for the community with their input so that we can be sure they'll maintain the project and understand the operation of the design.

Market development for improved cooking technologies:

We look to the communities to contribute to the cost of the stoves to develop their sense of ownership of the new technology.

Technology standardization for cooking, heating and ventilation:

We are open to collaboration in the area of technology standardization.

Indoor air pollution exposure and health monitoring:

We are currently pursuing studies to monitor the affects of our projects at the community level. Our goal is to quantify the carbon offsets generated by the improved stoves and tell the story of improved air quality in the communities in which we work.
