Shengzhou Stove Manufacturer's(SSM)mission is to provide improved biomass cook stoves to impoverished markets worldwide. SSM has joined partnership with Aprovecho Research Center to distribute improved biomass cook stoves that reduce emissions and fuel use requirements. SSM has successfully setup China's first stove factory emission monitoring lab to study combustion and reduce emissions & fuel use in all global stove products. SSM has developed mass production capacity for improved biomass cook stoves distribution. SSM works closely with Aprovecho Research Center to improve all stove project designs, to meet benchmarks for reduced emissions and fuel use requirements.

SSM is manufacturing and actively distributing improved biomass cook stoves for numerous global developing urban & rural markets, including Africa, Asia, India, & South America. SSM is involved with large scale production. SSM manufactures 3,000,000 combustion chambers for the Chinese domestic market, alone. SSM is providing India with 4 shipping containers of improved biomass cook stoves for the impoverished per month. Improved biomass cook stoves shipments to other developing nation's poor are departing from Ningbo, China every month.

Our Experience And Interest In The Four PCIA Central Focus Areas

Social/Cultural barriers to using traditional fuels and stoves:

By incorporating input and feedback from local cooks worldwide, SSM is designing cook stove products that meet the needs of specific global markets and cultural values. SSM and Aprovecho Research Center (ARC) agreement has led to the production of improved biomass cook stove designs that meet the needs of global cooks, while incorporating design principles that reduce both emissions and fuel use.

Market development for improved cooking technologies:

SSM has reached numerous partnership agreements for the local and global distribution of its improved biomass cook stoves. SSM has reached distribution partnerships with Aprovecho Research Center, StoveTec, and other local stove distributors. SSM is also developing business relationships with carbon credit funders, to maximize market development opportunities for the impoverished markets of the world, that might not otherwise be possible.

Technology standardization for cooking, heating and ventilation:

The Shengzhou Stove Manufacturers (SSM) and Aprovecho Research Center (ARC) partnership have led to improved biomass cook stove design standardization, that is incorporated in to our manufacturing process. This has led SSM to producing stoves that are reducing both emissions and fuel use. Standardization production insures high level quality control.

Indoor air pollution exposure and health monitoring:

The Shengzhou Stove Manufacturers (SSM) and Aprovecho Research Center (ARC) partnership have successfully installed China's first emissions and monitoring laboratory. Scientifically findings from this development have led to improved cook stoves and coal stove design improvements in all Shengzhou stove products and cooking implements. These design improvements have been incorporated in to our mass production capacity, to produce stoves that reduce emissions & fuel use. All emissions and monitoring equipment and technical expertise supplied by Aprovecho Research Center.

Relevant Publications or Studies

Improved cook stove studies pending, in partnership with Aprovecho Research Center. Recent coal stove emission findings in our lab, have led to significant reductions in carbon monoxide emissions and reduced fuel use.

Our Contribution to the Partnership

Shengzhou Stove Manufacturer wishes to participate in PCIA conferences and meetings to expand knowledge and manufacturing of improved cook stoves.
