Goals:
To promote the use of improved wood stoves to a large extent reducing indoor air pollution and emissions of gaseous substances thereby combating climate change.
Background:
The project is being financed by atmosfair Germany, and developed by LHL Germany, while DARE is the project implementation organisation. During the project period 12,500 stoves are expected to be distributed in the project area of the Guinea Savannah zone of Nigeria.
Expected Outcome:
300,000 tonnes of CO2 would have been reduced and poverty levels improved and a high level of IAP would have been countered.
Status:
Over 3,000 stoves have been distributed so far. Without customs hitches this should have been more.
