Visa Information for PCIA Forum Participants

Participants may obtain visas either ahead of time, or upon arrival in Uganda. We recommend that those who live in countries with Ugandan Embassies and are able to obtain a visa ahead of time please do so, as it will likely save you time at the airport in Kampala and avoid any possible complications along the way.

Participants who need to obtain a visa upon arrival at the airport in Kampala (Entebbe) will need to have with them:

  1. A passport (valid past your date of departure from Uganda)
  2. Two passport-sized photos (we’ve received conflicting guidance on this, so recommend bringing them with you to be safe)
  3. US$50.00
  4. Your personalized letter of invitation from GTZ and the Ugandan Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development
  5. Your personal/background information for the visa form as well as 1) The full address of where you intend to stay, which is: Speke Resort and Conference Centre, Munyonyo, Kampala, Uganda (no street address), +256 (0) 414-227111; and 2) a contact person in country: Mr. Bozhil Kondev, German Technical Cooperation (GTZ ) Plot 23 Nakasero Road, Kampala, Uganda, Tel. Number: +256-779-543202

Please also note: The Ugandan Embassy in the United States has informed us that everyone needs an international Inoculation Certificate against yellow fever to obtain a visa. The Ugandan Immigration Office in Uganda has informed us that participants seeking a visa on arrival will not be turned away for not having the certificate. Given this conflicting guidance, we recommend that participants get the vaccination and bring the inoculation certificate with them if at all possible.

If your plans have changed, and you are no longer able to attend the Forum, please let us know immediately so that we may give your spot to someone else, as we are over capacity for the event. If you have any questions, or have not received your invitation letter, please contact us at PCIAonline@yahoo.com and PCIAforum@gtz-reap.org.
