Our Focus
The women and children in rural areas are the ones most exposed to indoor air pollution. Around 93% of the rural population in Bangladesh suffers from respiratory disorders caused by inhaling smoke from burning biomass fuels during cooking. Usually, there is no mechanism in place to monitor the indoor air pollution caused by cooking smoke. AED Bangladesh provides improved cook stoves to rural areas through minimum contribution.
Our Experience And Interest In The Four PCIA Central Focus Areas
In Bangladesh only 7% of people use gas. Almost 93% use biomass. More than 36,000 children and women suffer from various diseases inhaling carbon every year.
We have 7 operational offices under 5 districts, and 115 skilled staff, who are trained in the renewable energy sector. We use many promotional materials for the renewable energy market & now successfully for ICS/bio-gas users.
Bangladesh's Renewable Energy Sector Forum meets monthly to discuss new technology. AED Bangladesh also designed an ICS which is easy to use, and it is also replaceable.
AED Bangladesh monitors all of its projects 3 times by 3 monitoring officers per year.
