APORTES is working on developing different appropriate technologies to deliver to our communities, members and immigrants for better use of resources and to contribute to the health of us all. Part of our mission is to gather the communities in working for alternatives to a more sustainable future, and to create economic alternatives for our products and services.

Our Focus
We are developing a project with a group of women to have a factory to build TLUD micro gasifiers, working with Paul Anderson and Art Donnelly of Seachar, in Costa Rica as a solution to the many problems created by the present use of wood and other fuels for cooking and drying goods.
Our Experience And Interest In The Four PCIA Central Focus Areas
In this context we are working with Nicaraguan and Ngobe (Panamanian) families in how to better use this technology (microgasifiers) to make them accessible in our every day life, together with Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica. Our purpose is to change our social structure and make these stoves part of our life systems.
We are trying to develop not simply a burner but a formal cook stove that could replace the old style cooking stove we have used for generations. We are trying to define how to address the sales system, by creating an easy to manage and use gasifier stove.
We do not have that kind of experience. We only have around six months on this venture.
We do have an interest in learning the different ways we could measure the air pollution, in all its aspects, as a way to determine the consequences of this technology and its appropriate application.
