atmosfair

Mission

atmosfair is an independent non-profit organisation based in Berlin, Germany. It was founded in 2004 out of a research project of the German Federal Environment Ministry. From its original conception as a flight offset retailer, atmosfair has developed into a full CDM project service provider. atmosfair employs 15 experts with broad experience in project development, climate markets, software solutions, marketing and public relations.
According to our standards, all offset projects are CDM-Gold Standard projects, as recommended by the recent UNEP Guide to offsetting. Furthermore, atmosfair applies a scientific methodology for emissions calculation, approved by the German Federal Environmental Agency.
atmosfair developed the CDM Gold Standard documentation and provides funding for the "Efficient Fuel Wood Stove" project implemented by DARE and Lernen Helfen Leben e.V.

Market development for improved cooking technologies:

Carbon finance offers a new way off bringing improved cooking stove projects off the ground.

Technology standardization for cooking, heating and ventilation:

We are highly interested in benchmarks for efficiency, standardisation of efficiency testing, monitoring equipment like Stove Use Monitors and development of default values to be used in CDM approved household energy methodologies.

Indoor air pollution exposure and health monitoring:

In the Nigeria case, monitoring of greenhouse gas emission reductions is ensured by using the monitoring approach of the CDM approved methodology AMS IIG. Sustainable development impact is monitored according to Gold Standard requirements.
