GIZ - PSDA - Special Achievement Award
GIZ’s plaque reads: In appreciation and recognition of your dedication to rigorous field testing resulting in improved stove design and clean, efficient cooking technologies .
GIZ aims at enhancing the capacities of people, organizations and institutional structures in partner countries to enable them to improve their living conditions through their own efforts. GIZ promotes improved cook stoves on a fully commercial approach in Kenya. The objective is to enable the rural population to sustainably access energy through promotion of ICS by scaling up production of quality ICS as well as increase demand and utilization of stoves. The program studied three different cook stoves to determine efficiency, affordability, and sustainability. Based on the results, this program has modified stove design, including the shape of the stove, to meet the needs of the women using them in Kenya. Staff is committed to improving performance while ensuring that the stove is accepted by the community. Please see the Bulletin 27 Awards Supplement for an interview with GIZ’s Anna Ingwe. |
